MIKE FRAHER NORWICH CANARY

Mike’s first Show was the 68th Confederation Ornithology Mondiale (C.O.M) which was held at Matosinhos in Portugal 2020. As this was his first year entering the competition he was unsure how the birds would compete against some of the best breeders in the world, however he manged to obtain 90 points with a Clear buff hen which was just outside the medals. His second was the 70th WORLD SHOW which was held in Naples Italy 2022. Here he was lucky enough to obtain a Sliver medal with a Blue Cock & with a Stam of Whites. His third was the 71st WORLD SHOW which was held in Talavera De La Reina in Spain. Here he obtained a gold medal with a Stam of variegated yellow hens and also took a sliver medal with the same blue cook that took the sliver in Italy. And finally, I took bronze with a cinnamon cock. The fourth was the 72nd WORLD SHOW which was held in Santa Maria da Feria in Portugal. Here as in 2020 he was just outside the medal ranking,to have obtained 5 medals in the Norwich section over the past 4 years has been a great achievement. In 2024 he applied to sit the OMJ exam for the specialist Norwich section & passed the exam.Becoming the first Irish fancier to ever do so in the Norwich Section and onlt the second Irish fancier ever,Mike would like me to mention his thanks the members and committee of the Eire Ornithological Association (EOA) alongside the members and committee of the International Ornithological Association COM-UK and friends from various countries around Europe that have been very good to give their time and advice to prepare for the OMJ exam.
